On September 1, Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) formed a fresh elongation to its short-term public approaches permitting distance learning to be qualified for a graduation Work Permit (PGWP). This implies that any individual who started their courses overseas before August 31, 2022, is qualified to make an application for the whole of that time towards qualifications of PGWP. Hence, if a student started their studies between September 1, 2022, and December 31, 2023, just 50% of the time can be estimated. Until December 31, 2023, qualified students who finished two eligible courses of study that were maybe in advancement in March 2020 or started between March 2020 and August 31, 2022, can be fit to:
- Fulfil 100 percent of the two courses outside of Canada – if these courses were in advancement in March 2020 or started between March 2020 and August 31, 2022.
- Join the period of their courses of study when applying for a Post Graduate Work Permit.
Based on the recent approaches for estimating the Post Graduate Work Permit duration, the curriculum must be at least eight months in extension and completed within two years at a qualified DLI. Students who started their second course on or after September 1, 2022, must fulfill at least 50% of their second course in Canada. Although their first course was functional in March 2020 or started between March 2020 and August 31, 2022, they are not qualified for the promotion mentioned above standards.
