Swedish Government Scholarship (Swedish Institute Scholarship)

Application for the Swedish Government Scholarship and the Swedish Institute Scholarship for the education year 2024/2025 is currently available. The Swedish Institute Scholarship is a financed program that permits qualified applicants from partaking nations to obtain a Master’s program at Swedish institutions.

Some hundred scholarships will be awarded for several master’s degrees tutored in English beginning in the autumn semester 2024. The Swedish Institute Scholarship for Global Professionals strives to build future world leaders who will donate to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and favorable and sustainable expansion in their home nations and territories.

The scholarship is planned for full-time, 12-month, or 24-month master’s courses. The tuition payment will be reimbursed directly to Swedish institutions at the start of every semester. The allowance for living costs is reimbursed every month during the scholarship duration.

Benefits

This administrative scholarship offers successful candidates the following:

  1. Total tuition payment protection. Swedish Institute reimburses The fee directly to your Swedish institution at the start of each semester.
  2. Monthly living costs of $1,134 will protect your living costs throughout the study.
  3. A travel award of $1,418. This is a one-time reimbursement and has yet to make an application for students settled in Sweden.
  4. Insurance against sickness and accident
  5. A member of the SI Network for Future Global Leaders, a forum to assist you in developing professionally and your network while living in Sweden.
  6. After your grant duration has expired, you become a Swedish Insitute Alumni Network member. Being a member, you acquire a unique chance for continued networking and occupational growth.

Candidates are required to be knowledgeable that this award does not:

  1. Offer extra awards for relatives
  2. Protect the application payment to University Admissions
  3. Permit alteration to the study course. They are only able to assist you via the granted master’s courses.
  4. Permit extensions or modifications to the given scholarship duration.

Eligibility

To make an application for this Europe scholarship scheme, candidates are required to:

  • Candidates must be nationals of one of the qualified nations; hence, you are not required to live in the nation during the application period.
  • Be accepted to one of the qualified master’s courses on21 March 2024. You will only be granted a scholarship for the master’s course you are taking on21 March 2024. Masters courses to which you are mentioned as a reserve cannot be regarded. There are no awards obtainable for late acceptance.
  • Master’s degrees: the master’s course you apply for is required to qualify for the Swedish Institutes scholarship.
  • Past skills: You must have indicated work skills; however, conditions are applied to specific areas.
  • Furthermore, you must have indicated leadership skills from your present or past employer or civil society involvement.

Notwithstanding all the qualification measures mentioned above, you are not qualified for Swedish Institute Scholarships for Global Professionals if you:

  • Are presently registered on or hold a program from a Swedish institution.
  • Have already lived in Sweden for about two years or more before the scholarship began in August 2024.
  • Have formerly been granted a Swedish Insitute Scholarship—past partakers of the Swedish Institute Summer Academy for Young Professionals. Students who have attended Swedish Institute summer programs in the Swedish language or the Swedish Institute Summer University may still make an application.
  • Possess a Swedish or EU/EEA nationality, a Swedish permanent residence permit, or a temporary work permit and residence permit according to work or on family bonds with a national of Sweden/EU/EEA nation who possess temporary or permanent liberty of residence in Sweden.
  • Possess a double nationality in nations not mentioned on the DAC list of ODA recipients for 2022/2023.

Qualified Programs

Approximately 700 English-educated master’s courses are qualified for the Swedish Institute scholarship for Global Professionals protecting courses in agricultural science, medicine and public health, humanities, natural science, social science, and technology.

Moldovan candidates with dual nationality in Romania may make an application for a scholarship. However, they are EU nationals and must mention their citizenship qualified for the scholarship when applying to the Swedish Institute and University Admissions.

How To Apply

The program awards scholarships to more master’s courses beginning in the autumn semester 2024.

Step One: Institution Application

  1. To start with, apply for up to four qualified master’s courses at a master’s program at universityadmissions.se by15 January 2024.Remember that the Stockholm School of Economics has different admissions and acceptance procedures. Before making an application, ensure that you are:
    • Liable to make payment of tuition fees to Swedish institutions.
    • Able to pay the application fee for master’s courses to University Intake by1 February 2024.
    • Lastly, apply and get accepted to one of the qualified master’s courses on30 March 2024. You will only be granted a scholarship for the master’s course you are taking. Master’s courses to which you are mentioned as a reserve will not be regarded. Suppose you have an admission to another course or courses of reduced preference. In that case, you must reject reserve spots early to ensure your successful intakes are not omitted later.
  1. When you have presented your application for a master’s course or courses at universityadmissions.se, you will acquire a personal application number comprising eight numbers. This number should be saved as you would require it when applying for the Swedish Insitute Scholarship for Global Professionals. Your request will not be qualified if you type in the wrong code in the application form online. Candidates for the Stockholm School of Economics will not obtain this number.
  1. Present your receipt of the application payment and the accompanying documents needed by University Admissions before the deadline on 1 February 2024. The fee will not be refunded.

Step Two: Application For Scholarship

Make an application for the Swedish Government Scholarship via the online application portal between12 February and 28 February 2024. A concluded application comprises of:

  1. Curriculum Vitae: You must use the Swedish Institute’s given CV 2024/2025 template. The curriculum vitae is required not to surpass three pages.
  2. Evidence of work and leadership skills: the work and leadership form must be signed by the mentor and stamped with an official stamp of the recommending organization or a notary office. The form or forms are required to be typed and printed out. Having done this, it should be signed, stamped, and uploaded as one single PDF file.
