Furthermore, to position Canada as an enticing destination for digital nomads, the strategy has to do with many standards, including a new invention stream under the International Mobility Program. This stream was expected at the end of 2023 but has yet to be declared.

IRCC stated that the invention stream will be excluded from the Labor Market Impact Assessment procedures. This strives to support employers and employees to assist Canada’s priorities for the tech industry.

Again, Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada launched a facilitated work permit for H1-B specialty occupation visa holders. The limit is 10,000 permits for the year, obtained on 16th July 2023. The department also stated that it would progress to existing tech courses, including Global Skills Strategy. Using the Global Skills Strategy, employers in Canada who employ international workers in particular information technology positions are qualified for expedited Labor Market Impact Assessment processing.
